About Us

It is my goal to share my father's wonderful artwork with the world!
Company history

My father, Gerald Mandell, refused to show any of his photos when he was alive.  Don't get me wrong...when he would take family photos he would often make copies for everyone.  However, when I would beg him to let me submit his works he would say, "When I die you can do whatever you want with them but right now I don't want anyone to see my stuff!"

...What can I say?  He was funny...
Since his passing in November 2006 I have started my quest to honor his talent(s), as well as preserve the history that he was able to capture in MANY of his photos.

Last year I donated many prints, as well as a few original photos, to Planned Parenthood of New Mexico.  These will be displayed and auctioned off at the Downtown Contemporary Arts Center.

I, Myria Mandell, the daughter of Spanish-Colonial Historian, Writer, and Photographer Gerald J. Mandell, always wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps as a photographer.  I took a films class in college where I learned about lighting and framing images.

Years later I built a website and began selling prints of dad's vintage photography.  People were so impressed with his abilities that they wanted to hire me to photograph their events.  Initially I had to decline because I didn’t have a good camera to work with.  After people kept asking repeatedly I realized that it would be a mistake not to invest in a new camera and just take the plunge!

I finally began my business in freelance photography and web design in July of 2009.
