Myria Mandell, the daughter of Spanish-Colonial Historian, Writer, and Photographer Gerald J. Mandell, always wanted to follow in her dad’s footsteps as a photographer. After his passing in November 2006, she built a website and began selling prints of his vintage photography. People were so impressed with his abilities that they wanted to hire her to photograph their events. She had to decline because she didn’t have a good camera to work with. After people kept asking repeatedly she realized that it would be a mistake not to invest in a new camera and just take the plunge! She finally began her business in freelance photography and web design in July of 2009.
